The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest lay Catholic Family Service organization. Through charity and prayer, the Knights stand in service to all as witnesses of the Good News of the Gospel.
The Saint Joseph of Freeburg Knights of Columbus Council 13197 was dedicated August 15, 2002. This date is the Feast of the Assumption. The group raises money throught various fundraisers to support local Special Education programs, Catholic school programs, Church functions, and other charities. One Fundraiser is the annual Tootsie Roll Fund Drive. The Knights support a Golf Tournament in the fall. The Knights also hold a pancake and sausage breakfast every Palm Sunday. The annual Basketball Free-Throw Contest is held at St. Joseph Parish Center. "Keep Christ in Christmas" coloring contest is also sponsored by the Knights.
